Money Magazine reported that people here in the US spend a massive amount of money during holidays. Is this holiday in the bible? NO.
People spend about 9 to 15 billion (3.5 billion in candy, 2.7 in decorations, 69% in costumes) for Halloween. According to NFR (National Retail Federation) during the holiday of Halloween, the number 1 costume for adults is a witch, followed by a vampire, and zombie, and for the children are superheroes like batman or superwoman. Do these represent and honor Elohim?
Where does it come from? Halloween comes from the ancient Celtic harvest festival of Samhain during October 31st/November 1st, where people can communicate with the dead and worship of false gods (Baal.) They brought sacrifices to these gods. Druids priest believed that the dead spirits would come to life.
Why do people engage in a behavior opposite of Elohim’s light?
There is a parasha call Vayera which means (He Appears.)
Supposed Abraham saw Elohim and to honor him, he quickly told Sarai to dress like a witch, cut out a lantern; put it in front of the tent and measure out the best candy and bake candy bread to the guest. She did not know how to do all these things, so she went to call on the spirits, so they can make sure that the spirits coming to them will not harm them. NO, this is not what happened at all; Abraham honored Elohim by immediately recognizing Him as Elohim and submitting to Him.
What would you do if Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob appears to you?
Acts 7:2-3 “2 and Stephen said: “Brothers and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to Avraham Avinu in Mesopotamia before he lived in Haran 3 and said to him, ‘Leave your land and your family, and go into the land that I will show you.’ 4 So he left the land of the Kasdim and lived in Haran….” CJB
Romans 12:2 “2 In other words, do not let yourselves be conformed to the standards of the ‘Olam HaZeh or world. Instead, keep letting yourselves be transformed by the renewing of your minds; so that you will know what God wants and will agree that what he wants is good, satisfying, and able to succeed.” CJB
Therefore, what are you going to do? Today is the day to change.
