Things You Will Not Find In Heaven - Part 17 – Hypocrites
A hypocrite is an impostor and someone who poses to be something they are not. Someone who thinks doing things their way is better. Yeshua said this:
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but, on the inside, you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.” Matthew 23:27-28.
Think about Nadab and Abihu, sons of Aaron. Just because they were the sons of Aaron, they thought they had power and position and could ignore God’s instructions. Their disobedience cost them their lives. They became prideful. Leviticus 10.
Think about the sons of Eli, Hophni, and Phinehas, chosen by God to serve him in the temple at Shilo a great honor; however, they despised following instructions and did not acknowledge God. Their disobedience against God cost them their lives and also the lives of all future male generations. They had pride. 1 Samuel 2.
Think about Judas, who betrayed Yeshua. Yeshua chose him as one of His disciples; however, Judas instead of changing his way of life by learning and repenting; Judas preferred living a lie. Pretending to be a disciple but in his heart, he was concerned with the things of the world, money, position, and thinking he was better than even Yeshua. His deception about life and his thoughts led him to betray Yeshua and to his death. Judas had pride. Matthew 27.
Hypocrisy arrives when a person thinks he is too good to do this or that. When they are deceived claiming to know best or know God but they deny him. It is when they honor themselves and would do every evil thing to keep being honored like stealing, murdering, slandering, lying, greed, taking advantage of others, etc.
Galatians 6:3 “If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.”
