John the Baptist, son of Zechariah and Elizabeth and cousin to Yeshua, was as he describes it in John 1:23 ““I am The voice of someone crying out: ‘In the desert make the way of Adonai straight!” CJB.  The coming of John was prophesied in Isaiah 40:3 and he was sent by Elohim to bear witness and a testimony to Yeshua the Messiah.

Questions from the crowds

Luke 3:10-11 “10 The crowds asked Yochanan, “So then, what should we do?” 11 He answered, “Whoever has two coats should share with somebody who has none, and whoever has food should do the same.”

Luke 3:12-13 “12 Tax-collectors also came to be immersed; and they asked him, “Rabbi, what should we do?” 13 “Collect no more than the government assesses,” he told them.
