The Great Intercessor – The Curtain

Deuteronomy 18:15 “15 Adonai will raise up for you a prophet like me from among yourselves, from your own kinsmen. You are to pay attention to him,” CJB

When we think about intercession and prayer, we can think about someone interceding in prayer or interceding physically for another person’s life.  We know of one person who was the highest intercessor of all times.  Yeshua is the one that broke down the dividing line of division, conversation, presence, and unity.

Many times, in our lives, we can think about Yeshua’s death; but few times, we put great thought and effort into the events that happen during his death.  One of these was the veil torn in two.

The veil was 30 feet long, 30 feet high, 30 feet wide.  The thickness, not mentioned, but it was probably very thick so to block the glory of Elohim. Made of linen, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn with the cherubim’s drawings.

Why did the curtain rip and what does it mean?

1: The curtain or veil represented Yeshua’s flesh of new covenant

Hebrews 10:19 “19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have boldness to enter into the Holies by the blood of Yeshua20 He inaugurated a new and living way for us through the curtain—that is, His flesh.” CJB

2: The curtain Represented the end of division in communication

Exodus 26:31-34 “ 31 “You are to make a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely woven linen. Make it with k’ruvim worked in, that have been crafted by a skilled artisan. 32 Hang it with gold hooks on four acacia-wood posts overlaid with gold and standing in four silver sockets. 33 Hang the curtain below the fasteners. Then bring the ark for the testimony inside the curtain; the curtain will be the divider for you between the Holy Place and the Especially Holy Place. 34 You are to put the ark-cover on the ark for the testimony in the Especially Holy Place.” CJB

3: The curtain represented a path to the end of sin

Hebrews 9:11-12 “11 But when the Messiah appeared as cohen gadol of the good things that are happening already, then, through the greater and more perfect Tent which is not man-made (that is, it is not of this created world), 12 he entered the Holiest Place once and for all.” CJB
