Who Do You Say I Am

Around the world, Yeshua is viewed in different ways, and people have different opinions about who He is. What about you? Who do you say He is? This question confronts us every day as we live our everyday lives. Every time we decide something in our lives, we are faced with this question because we must continuously trust that Yeshua is there for our good. When we are victorious, who do we say Yeshua is? When we are going through trials and tribulations, who do we say He is?

Yeshua asked this question to the disciples:

Matthew 16:13-14 “13 When Yeshua came into the territory around Caesarea Philippi, he asked his talmidim, “Who are people saying the Son of Man is?” 14 They said, “Well, some say Yochanan the Immerser, others Eliyahu, still others Yirmeyahu or one of the prophets.” CJB

The Hindu or Hinduism believe Yeshua is a special holy man and a good teacher

The Buddhist believe Yeshua is a holy man but not God.

Christian Science believes Yeshua is an example. He is not God and did not die for us, etc.

Jehovah’s Witness believes Yeshua is just an angel (Michael, the arc angel).

Mormons believe Yeshua is a created being through relationship (men through pattern of procreation). Brother of satan and equal to satan.

New age believes that Yeshua is just a man who discovers that He can become God.

Transcendental Meditation or Yoga believes that Yeshua did not die and suffered for humanity.

Judaism believes that Yeshua is a false messiah.

Yet others during Yeshua’s time believed that Yeshua was Meshugga (crazy). Others thought that He was a false teacher. Some believed that he had a demon. Some thought that He was a dreamer.

But when talking to His disciples, he asked Matthew: 16:15-16 “15 “But you,” he said to them, “who do you say I am?” 16 Shim ‘on Kefa answered, “You are the Mashiach, the Son of the living God.” CJB

John 5:45-46 “45 “But don’t think that it is I who will be your accuser before the Father. Do you know who will accuse you? Moshe, the very one you have counted on! 46 For if you really believed Moshe, you would believe me; because it was about me that he wrote. 47 But if you don’t believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?” CJB

How about you?  Who do you say Yeshua is?

Who do you say that Yeshua is in your life?

Around the world, people have a choice to believe in Yeshua and have eternal life or to not believe and have judgment. Let’s choose life.

Yom Teruah

Tekia, Shevarim, Teruah, Tekiah Gedola

What is Yom Teruah? Yom means day and Teruah means a sounding blast to the shofar or trumpet.

Yom Teruah/Day of Blowing or Day of Blowing the Shofar or trumpet is an Appointed Time commanded by Elohim.

When is Yom Teruah? The first day of the seventh month of Elohim’s biblical calendar.

Leviticus 23:23-25 “ADONAI spoke to Moses saying: 24 “Speak to Bnei-Yisrael, saying: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you are to have a Shabbat rest, a memorial of blowing (shofarot),[e] a holy convocation. 25 You are to do no regular work, and you are to present an offering made by fire to ADONAI.” TLV

Numbers 29:1 “On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a sacred assembly. You are to do no laborious work. It is for you a day for sounding the shofar.” CJB

The word of Elohim tells us that His commandments are not burdensome.

1 John 5:3 “For this is the love of God—that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.” CJB

During the years rabbis have come up with the following traditions on how to blow the shofar:

Tekia: Sounding with a long loud blasting noise.

Teruah: Sounding with nine short consecutive blasts.

Shevarim: Sounding of three broken sounds

Tekia Gedola: Sounding long lasting sound.

However, when we investigate the word of Elohim; it only mentions TERUAH or a loud alarm sound. Leviticus 23:24 says in Hebrew TERUAH. Numbers 29:1 says Teruah. The commandment then is to blow, or great shout, or Teruah.

When we investigate the word Teruah then is to blow an alarm and joyful sound most likely with the shofar/trumpets.

We are to rest as a Shabbat rest, don’t work, congregate, hold the day as a memorial or remembrance and sound the alarm. Remember what? The Sound. Exodus 19:6.

Don’t get deceived and caught up with technicalities. Sound the alarm of the Shofar and get to know the sound and the voice of Elohim. Yeshua is soon returning.
