Things People Did – Part 5

The Woman who Didn’t Let Go

Matthew 15:22-29 “And behold, a Canaanite woman from that district came out and started shouting, “Have mercy on me, O Master, Ben-David! My daughter is severely tormented by a demon.” 23 But He did not answer her a word. And when His disciples came, they were urging Him, saying, “Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.” 24 But He responded, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 So she came and got down on her knees before Him, saying, “Master, help me!” 26 And answering, He said, “It’s not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27 But she said, “Yes, Master, but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” 28 Then answering, Yeshua said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed in that very hour.” TLV

What was the great thing Yeshua admired about this woman? And the very thing He wanted to teach his disciples?

Persistence

Humbleness/asking

And Faith.

This woman knew Yeshua was the answer to her situation.  She was completely convinced that Yeshua could heal her daughter, who was in great pain and sorrow.  Her entire family was suffering from the sickness of her daughter.  This woman had great faith indeed; however, there was something else that she possessed, a secret weapon perhaps.  This weapon is that she was not offended by Yeshua’s answer about throwing bread to dogs.  She took this opportunity to say that even a dog knows and needs his master.

Yes, Yeshua is the master of all things.

What is your situation? He can be the master of all your challenges.

Ask Him.
