Biblical Feast Days
There are eight biblical appointed times commanded by Elohim:
Commandment to all believers in Yeshua: Leviticus 23:1
These appointed times are for all believers. Elohim said that they were HIS appointed times. He is making the appointment. Numbers 15:15-16, Galatians 3:28.
Shabbat: Leviticus 23:3, Exodus 20:8, Hebrews 4:9
When: On the seventh day of every week which is Saturday.
Thing to do: Take the day off, holy convocation.
Why: Celebrate the day of rest. Celebrate Him by honoring His commandment. Help others as the time arises.
Passover: Leviticus 23:4-5, Exodus 12, Isaiah 53:7, 1 Corinthians 5:7, 1 Peter 1:19
When: On the 14th day of Aviv or first month also known as Nissan of the Hebrew calendar. March/April of Gregorian calendar. Every year (Exodus 12:14.)
Things to do for Passover: Prepare for the feast of unleavened bread and have the seder dinner or Passover dinner for it is a commandment.
Why: To observe by commandment the deliverance from bondage. We are all sinners which leads to death. Yeshua delivers us from the bondage and destiny of death.
Unleavened Bread: Leviticus 23:6-8, Leviticus 23:14, Exodus 12:15-20, Exodus 13:6-8, numbers 33:3.
When: On the 15th day to the 22nd day of Aviv or first month for seven days. March/April of the Gregorian calendar.
Thing to do: Have the seder dinner at the beginning evening of the first day or the closing of the 14th day or Passover, no work on the first day or Aviv 15 and no work on the last day Aviv 22nd, holy convocation, don’t eat leavened bread, eat unleavened products for seven days.
Why: Memorial week for remembering freedom and the deliverance from death. Yeshua is the perfect and without sin lamb sacrificed who gave His life for all humanity to deliver them from death. John 6:33,
First Fruits: Leviticus 23:10-13, Exodus 23:16, Exodus 34:26, etc.
When: On the day after the weekly shabbat or the first day of the week (Sunday). March/April of the Gregorian calendar.
Thing to do: take the day off, holy convocation, wave the unleavened bread.
Why: Remember the first fruits of the harvest, remember Yeshua’s resurrection. He is the perfect lamb who gave His life for all humanity once and for all. James 1:18, Matthew 27:53, 1 Corinthians 15:20, etc.
Shavuot: Leviticus 23:15-21, Exodus 34:22, Joel 2:28-32. etc.
When: Fifty days after the day after the weekly Shabbat. Month of Sivan or third month. May/June Gregorian calendar.
Things to do: Day off, holy convocation, wave of leavened bread, gathering of the harvest.
Why: The giving of the Holy Spirit by Yeshua. Acts 1 and 2, Luke 24:49, etc.
Yom Teruah/Day of Blowing: Leviticus 23:24-25, Joshua 6, etc.
When: The first day of the seventh month, Eitanim or also known as Tishri. Sep/Oct of Gregorian calendar. Please note that Yom Teruah is not the new year. New year is during the first month or March/April.
Things to do: Take the day off, holy convocation, Teruah or blow the shofar or sound the alarm for Yeshua will return soon.
Why: To sound an alarm to repent for Yeshua is returning. Matthew 24:30.
Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement: Leviticus 23:27-32, Leviticus 16, etc.
When: On the tenth day of the seventh month, Eitanim. Sept/Oct of the Gregorian calendar.
Things to do: NO WORK/DAY OFF, holy convocation, fast.
Why: Day of cleansing and sanctification by Yeshua. Hebrews 9:11-14.
Sukkot/Tabernacles: Leviticus 23:34-36,
When: On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, Eitanim or Tishri. Sep/Oct of the Gregorian calendar.
Things to do: Build a sukkah, celebrate for eight days, first day off and eighth day off with holy convocation.
Why: Remembrance of when we were wondering in the desert and we will tabernacle with Yeshua forever/eternal life. United with Messiah as one. John 7, Revelation 7:15, etc.
These appointed times are commandments that teach us the history that points out to Yeshua the Messiah and His redemptive work. Each one of us are called to observe them as perpetual regulation through all generations.
Leviticus 23:4 ““‘These are the designated times of Adonai, the holy convocations you are to proclaim at their designated times.” CJB
